On a recent trip to the St. Pete Farmers Market I made a discovery that blew my mind.
Tidal Boar Ginger Beer.
This non-alcoholic taste sensation was created by the husband and wife team of Richard and Lyuba Malone. They decided to start their business out of the frustration that most of the ginger beers available on the market were loaded with artificial ingredients and, in fact, very little fresh ginger! Tidal Boar Ginger Beer uses only fresh natural ingredients and you can taste the difference at first sip.
Just as many chefs do, Richard is constantly experimenting with different recipes and flavor combinations. The day I was at the market, I had the opportunity to sample the Blueberry Habanero made with local blueberries from Plant City, FL. The taste was clean, crisp, pleasingly spicy with just a hint of sweetness. One sip and I was hooked. A few other flavors which are available seasonally are Key Lime Hibiscus, Cranberry, Pineapple and Mango, as well as the Original Ginger Beer.
I was curious about the name, Tidal Boar. Lyuba responded with a fantastic backstory:
“Commonly known as the shadow of the shore, only few have witnessed first hand the illusive Tidal Boar, who seldom emerges from the converging forces of the inflowing tide and the outflowing river. You may catch a glimpse of the mighty white tusks breaching fervently and steadily upstream. Only the brave and courageous have attempted to tame the beast and surf the boar, a contentious ride that can journey up to a mile long.”
Now you can witness the bold refreshing flavor of Tidal Boar Ginger Beer, and see if you have what it takes to make the journey.
Unleash the GINGER!
