Sharing my knowledge about food is one of my passions.
Not everybody has had the same opportunities in life. I have been blessed with a long, successful career in the food industry and one of my goals is to share the knowledge I’ve gained.
Recently, I’ve been focused on teaching kids about healthy eating. Childhood obesity is at epidemic levels today and the majority of it stems from a diet based on processed foods. My goal is to expose kids to cooking and healthy eating.
Since moving to Florida, I have been involved with the Fresh for Florida Kids program. Fresh for Florida Kids promotes healthy food choices in schools and also features the Farm to School program. It’s a fun, creative way to help kids learn about food, nutrition, the environment and the huge variety of fresh foods that are grown locally here in Florida.
I have also been involved in cooking classes at the Robert C. Taylor Community Center here in Sarasota, FL.
I recently hosted 85 elementary school kids for “hands-on” pizza making class made with healthy toppings. I plan to host a teen event later this summer.
If you have an event that you would like me to attend or work with you on, reach out to me on my Contact page.
